Toronto – The Eatonville Farmhouse Séance
Every year, renowned mentalist James White hosts seances in some of Toronto’s scariest locations. What exactly is a séance? Well, it’s a gathering whereby groups of people come together to call upon spirits through the help of a medium (or in Jayme’s case, a mentalist) who acts a messenger to said spirits. Jayme’s psychological experiences sell out every year and this year, the Eatonville Farmhouse acts as the backdrop to a soul-shaking authentic Victorian era experience that invites the dead to interact with the living.
Pair it with: Banana Punch – this indica hybrid tastes just like banana cream pie and the smoke is super smooth but most importantly the high will keep you calm and at ease which we think would be pretty crucial when communicating with the dead.
Ottawa – Deadwood Haunted Drive
A haunted drive through experience at the Wesley Clover Park Campgrounds, where guests will experience seven spine chilling horror sets all from the comfort (discomfort?) of their own vehicles. With live actors and insane special effects, you really might get tricked into thinking you won’t survive the drive. Don’t forget to lock your doors.
Pair it with: Obviously don’t smoke and drive but if you’re a passenger in this daunting drive, the doughy, sugary and fun body buzz from LA Kush Cake will definitely enhance the scaries.
Vancouver – Maan Farms, The Scariest Corn Maze in Canada
According to the Maan Farms website, the corn is bleeding again. Guests of the scariest corn maze in Canada will be led into the thick of the maze and will experience a flurry of macabre delights – from a cart of ancient wonders, to a mysterious gypsy, you never know who or what you might encounter.
Pair it with: Reservoir Focus because you’ll need the improved mental clarity, focus and memory to find your way out of the maze.
Montreal – Candlelight Halloween
For those who don’t fare well with being outright terrorized, why not enjoy a candlelight concert to some Halloween songs and scores inside old Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours chapel. Listen under the warm candlelight as a string quartet plays a soundtrack of fear with 16 tracks including the Stranger Things, Beetlejuice and Ghost Busters theme songs.
Pair it with: MOTA Canna Cocoa because there’s nothing quite like something warm and chocolatey in your cup while relaxing to the sonic musings of a live string quartet.
Calgary – Pumpkins after Dark
For some good old wholesome outdoor fun, Pumpkins after Dark is a walkthrough event held at Husky Gardens in Canada Olympic Park featuring 6000+ hand carved pumpkins. Pumpkins have been transformed into immersive and larger than life sculptures, from famous Halloween characters, to mythical creatures and pop culture icons, there’s something for everyone.
Pair it with: Mittencake Batter – a delicious dessert strain that will leave you nice and wavy, the perfect conditions to take in all that pumpkin art.
